Ylang Ylang means "flower of flowers" and is extracted by steam distillation from the flowers of a tropical tree that grows in the Indian Ocean.
When Ylang Ylang is distilled, the first fraction is separated out and called Ylang Ylang Extra.
The next fraction is known as Ylang Ylang I, then II and finally III.

Ylang Ylang Extra is very highly regarded and finds its way into top quality perfumes.
