Benylin Chesty Coughs Original

Benylin Chesty Coughs medicine has a soothing effect, easing the symptoms of a chesty cough.

Containing the expectorant Guaifenesin, this effective chesty cough medicine has a penetrating action that works deep down to loosen phlegm and helps to clear bronchial congestion – making your cough more 'productive'.

Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 14 mg and Levomenthol 2.0 mg in each 5 ml.

Other ingredients:

Liquid glucose, sucrose, ethanol, glycerol, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), ammonium chloride, caramel (E150), raspberry flavour, carbomer, Ponceau 4R (E124) and water.

Adults, elderly (over 65) and children over 12 years:

Take two 5 ml spoonfuls four times a day
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours

Children 6 to 12 years:

Take one 5 ml spoonful four times a day
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours

Before you take Benylin Chesty Coughs Original:

Do not take if:

You have ever had a reaction to this product or to any of its ingredients
You have a persistent cough such as occurs with asthma or produce a lot of mucus (phlegm)
You are taking, or have taken in the last two weeks, drugs for depression known as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)

Take special care with Benylin Chesty Coughs Original if:

You have kidney or liver problems
You have prostate disease or glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
You have difficulty in passing water (urinary retention)
You are taking any other medicnes

Driving and using machinery (this product may cause drowsiness)

Pregnancy & Breast-feeding:

Ask you dcotor or pharmacist before taking this product in pregnancy or whilst breat-feeding.
